FAA/ICAO IR Conversion

COURSE OVERVIEW

Castle Air Academy’s FAA/ICAO IR Conversion consists of extensive ground school followed by a minimum of 10 hours synthetic flight training in our simulators and a minimum of 5 hours flight training in a multi-engine IFR helicopter plus a skills test.

  • The course is undertaken over a 4 week period, including a separate Type Rating if required.

Entry requirements

  • For this course must hold, at least a Private Pilot License (PPL) and have night flying privileges if you will use Instrument Rating (IR) privileges at night
  • In addition to this you will need to have at least 50 hours flight time or have completed an ATP(H)/IR, ATP(H), CPL(H)/IR or CPL(H) integrated training courses
