Full 50HR Single Pilot Multi-Engine IR Course

COURSE OVERVIEW

Castle Air Academy’s Full 50-Hour Single Pilot Multi-Engine Instrument Rating (IR) Course is designed to comprehensively train aspiring pilots in both theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary for IR certification

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

You must hold one of the following licences:

  • an ATPL(H)
  • a CPL(H)
  • or a PPL(H)

 

You must also have completed at least 50 hours of cross-country flight time as PIC in aeroplanes, TMGs, helicopters or airships, of which at least 10 hours must be in helicopters. However, if you have completed an ATPL(H)/IR, ATPL(H), CPL(H)/IR or CPL(H) integrated training course, you will not need to meet this requirement.

FULL 50HR SINGLE PILOT MULTI-ENGINE IR COURSE CONTENT

The Course features an extensive ground school package covering aviation regulations and procedures. It includes a minimum of 40 hours of synthetic flight training in our AW109E simulator and a minimum of 10 hours flight training in a multi-engine helicopter before an Instrument Rating test.

COURSE DURATION

The course is undertaken over a 8-10 week period, including a separate Type Rating, based on two students undertaking the course together.
