The 2025 Bristow Search and Rescue Pilot Cadetship

The Bristow Pilot Cadet Programme is run in conjunction with Castle Air Aviation Group.

There are only a limited number of places available on the pilot cadet scheme and competition for places is high.

To apply you will need a minimum of five GCSE’s or equivalent including Maths and English at grade C or higher.

Applicants must be over 18, have the right to live and work in the UK and be fluent in written and spoken English.

Applicants must hold a valid Class 1 UK Flight Crew Medical Certificate prior to the commencement of the Commercial phase of the course.

The training is sponsored but applicants will have to support their own living costs during the course.

Successful applicants will embark on a 24-month course primarily based at Gloucester Airport, UK, with possible elements in Florida. You’ll be expected to relocate if necessary and, after the training, will be deployed to one of the UK’s network of SAR bases.

If you’re successful in reaching the next phase of this process, the selection days, at Castle Air, are on 25th & 26th September 2025. The course commences on 6th October 2025.
